We are the World Blogfest is here with its 15th edition, the sixth post of 2018 and my eighth post on #WATWB to spread peace, kindness, and humanity on social media, a few of us have worked together to create the We are the World Blogfest. In a world where news and social media are awash with negativity, we aim to turn the focus to small but significant stories that renew our faith in humanity.
Ms. C.A. Saroja – Service To Man Is Service To God
We, at #WATWB highlighted loving lady Ms. Vidya Raju in our earlier posts.
This post highlights the selfless services rendered by Ms. C.A. Saroja, Retired Nursing Superintendent Government Stanley Hospital, Chennai, India. She is rendering the best rehabilitation for every Ostomate in around Chennai.
P.S: Ostomate is a person who has had an ostomy, a surgical operation to create an opening in the body for the discharge of body wastes.
Ms. C.A. Saroja is a Member World council of Entero Stomal Therapists South East Asian region. Also, she’s a gold medalist in nursing during her academic career and won various awards for outstanding contributions in the fields like pediatric Nursing, Surgical Nursing, Enterostomal Therapy, Hospital Administration, Midwifery and Special Subjects. She has also won many awards like State Second Merit (Surgery), Hiralal Narang Award 1983 (for ostomates service) & Wisdom Award in 1994.
“Service To Man Is Service To God”
– Ms. C. A. Saroja
It is really worrying when you learn that you need to undergo a major surgery. And it will be particularly traumatic when you learn that as a result of that surgery, your bodily functions will not be the same and will not be able to pass motions/urine in the normal way but will wear a ‘bag’ on your abdomen. It’s so painful for the patients and their caretakers too.
It’s alarming to know that there are nearly 25,000 Ostomates living in Tamilnadu and nearly One Lakh Ostomates living in India. But the number of nurses available to take care of these patients is very low. And in this situation, the selfless service rendered by Ms. C. A. Saroja needs much appreciation and support. I really salute her for her unconditional love and tireless service to the affected.
