N For Namaskar: A To Z On Mindfulness For Newbies #StayMindfulWithMSN

Welcome to A To Z On Mindfulness For Newbies

The fourteenth letter to be explored in A To Z on Mindfulness For Newbies is N. N is for Namaskar.

In Indian tradition, we usually say Namaskar or Namaste when we meet people or elders. This is to depict respect and greetings. And this is the simplest form of Yoga yet the most powerful tool to be mindful. There are numerous benefits of Namaskar. One is to keep yourself balanced and grounded.

Namaskar or Namaste is the way of greeting in which one puts the hands together and bows slightly.

The word ‘Namaskar’ is derived from the root namaha’, which means paying obeisance (Namaskar) or salutation. Scientifically, ‘Namaha’ is a physical action expressing that ‘you are superior to me in all qualities and in every way’. Know about the Do’s and Dont’s before practicing it.

  1. Thats so true…The best way to give respect. The meaning you have explained is just superb which is somehow lost in todays scenario. People rather feel shy to do so. I liked the simple ways you shared to do so. Worth reading.
