My Review
I am a strong believer that our grandmother is a treasure of knowledge and wisdom. When I saw the tweets about the book from the author, I was really excited. And I want to buy this book for mine. As I always speak about healthy lifestyle and traditional knowledge of our ancestors, I don’t want to have a second chance to read this book. So grabbed one for me.
The book is categorized into three parts as The Fifty Habits of Food, Lifestyle, and Mind, Three Month Traditional Habits Calendar and Tools. As terms like weight loss, dieting, clean eating, paleo diet, keto diet are buzzing around, there is so much guilt on being a foodie. I wanted my family to be healthy without compromising our tastes. And this book is the absolute solution to my problem. All the mentioned traditional health hacks are tested and proven. And they are explained in simple words yet they are profound. It gives a complete action plan for a healthier YOU. When the woman of the family is healthy, then the family is supposed to be healthier too. And my favorites from the book are:
- Why India Loves Dhaal
- Make Friends With Fat
- Rotate Your Greens
- Detox naturally: Fast Once a Week
- Seven Ways To Begin Your Day Right
30 recipes included at the end is a handy ready reference for all women who love and enjoy food and cooking. And I am having this book in my handbag to read again and again while on waiting. Also, this book is a brilliant gift for any friends and families. Thanks, Kavita for reinforcing our traditions and culture through your practice and books.
In A Nutshell: Excellent book with an amazing collection of actionable health nuggets combined with the traditional wisdom of our grandmother. It also suggests many simple yet healthy recipes for our family.
My Rating: 5 / 5
