L For Laugh: A To Z On Mindfulness For Newbies #StayMindfulWithMSN

Welcome to A To Z On Mindfulness For Newbies

The twelfth letter to be explored in A To Z on Mindfulness For Newbies is L. L is for Laugh.

Today’s lifestyle makes us forget to smile and laugh sometimes. This will certainly affect our next generation. Smiling is personal. Laughing is public.

A laugh is expressions of lively amusement and happiness. A laugh is a source of fun and excitement.

Humor is infectious and contagious. When laughter is shared, it binds people together and increases happiness and intimacy. Humor and laughter strengthen your immune system, boost your energy, reduces pain, and makes you free from stress.

Being happy gives you satisfaction. Man, who forgets to laugh is like an animal. Laughter reduces stress and has many other benefits.

A To Z 2018 Challenge - L For Laugh

Search For No reasons To Laugh

To celebrate your life with your loved ones, you shouldn’t search for any reasons for laughing. You can develop your sense of laughing by following these simple and easy hacks:

Laugh at yourself. Share your funny side with others. Laugh at yourself for any silly mistakes you have done. It’s a good chance to refresh and relax.

Surround yourself with reminders to make you laugh. Have some funny posters on your rooms, crack some silly jokes and entertain others, put photo frames of your family members engaged in fun activities.

Watch comedy movies together. Comedy movies and serials will help you to break into good laughter. You can have a comedy movie marathon on any Sundays. Laugh together with your family members.

Look only for positive. Try to avoid negative people and don’t dwell on news stories, entertainment, or conversations that make you sad or unhappy. Commit yourself only to look for positives in any person or situation.

Find your inner child. Pat attention to things that makes you happy. Try to enjoy life just like a child. Play some fun games. Sing some silly songs.

Don’t go a day without laughing. Find some time in a day to laugh without any worries. Commit to 10 – 15 minutes in each day to do any tasks that bring you joy and peace.

  1. There is a saying, “Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry alone.” Laughter releases harmones in the brain that make yo feel good. Laughing is a sure fire way of defeating depression and other ailments.

  2. Laughter meditation sounds interesting. its true that in todays fast-paced life people forget to give out a hearty laugh, which should not be the case. Laughter is a therapy, plus I have read it somewhere that it keeps the facial wrinkles at bay; all the more reason to chuckle.

  3. Laughter for me has the ability to set my personal world upright again when it has been tipping and tilting precariously due to life’s challenges. I rely on laughter to warm up a cold response. I rely on laughter to break the ice in uncomfortable situations. I rely on laughter to defuse potentially volatile confrontations. Years of experience have taught me that the best form of laughter, the kind of laughter that most people can relate to, is that laughter which is directed at oneself. Getting someone to laugh over mild self-deprecation helps most people to let their guard down. Being mindful not to laugh at others but rather to find the humor in a situation or perhaps in your own foibles is an integral part of creating that contagious effect of laughter that we so often desire.

  4. Laughing at oneself and keeping alive the inner child — these two are definite to help us stay young at heart and happy always. The question, though, is can we really do that? Do we have it in us to laugh at ourselves? Or allow others to, considering the kind of fragile egos we have developed? And, do we even have the energy to keep alive the inner child? Life comes in the way!
    Do I sound too cynical?
I hope not. It’s just something I see so much of these days, that I had to share my thoughts!

Having said that, I really liked this post of yours. And, it’s something I need to remember for myself.

    Thank you!
