With this “Chill Chat With Cool Bloggers” series,  I feel extremely happy to feature a versatile and a veteran blogger Rachna Parmar of Rachna Says and Rachna Cooks. She blogs about Parenting, Feminism, Relationships for Rachna Says and Cooking, Recipes, Health and Fitness for Rachna Cooks.

She’s a very experienced blogger in this blogosphere for nearly a decade.  She has been featured in Femina’s issue of Top 50 bloggers in India. Also got featured on Huffington Post IndiaWomen’s Web, Parent Circle and Elephant Journal.

Hello, Rachna! Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Rachna: I am an Entrepreneur and an Editor along with being a blogger and a writer. I have won a few blogging awards and have been published in many magazines, portals and newspapers. I am an avid cook, fitness enthusiast, pet parent and mom.

Q1.An ever since moment in your blogger life or your turning point in blogging.

Rachna: I really can’t think of a turning point. I guess taking the first step to start a blog was a joyful moment. Making so many friends and starting a new career because it was definitely very enriching.

Q2. Your definition of blog success.

RachnaA blog that is easy to read has a defined niche and voice of its own and content that is engrossing and elicits a reader to think is a good blog. With these basic elements, such a blog has good readership and engagement which makes it successful.

  • Always write with passion and honesty. 
  • Do your best work consistently.

Q4. Your motivational factor for your best blog.

RachnaMy motivation for all my blogging is in writing what I believe in.

Q5. One relationship who contributed to making your blog.

Rachna: My children whose childhood was the reason I began blogging. The support of my family and friends which keeps me going.

Q6. One factor, out of your comfort zone in blogging.

RachnaDealing with aggressive PRs and clients who want free work though I have gotten better at it over the years.

Q7. A book / movie / person / blog that transformed you.

Rachna: The Book Thief is among one of the most impactful books that I’ve read. There are many movies too.

Q8. Your strength and weakness as a blogger.

RachnaMy strength is my honesty and simplicity of writing. My weakness is that I can’t suck up to people and resort to flattery.

Q9. One principle you are proud of.

Rachna: Staying true to my passion.

  1. Write regularly and pay attention to your content.
  2. Proofread your content and use pleasing images.
  3. Read regularly and leave genuine comments.
  4. Build a community.

  6. Don’t sell yourself short.

  8. Work towards building your brand.
