Hello, Sri! Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Sri: I am Srividhya, a proud mom juggling between work, family and my blog. I am a software engineer by profession and a chef at heart. Also, I am an ardent fan of Ponniyin Selvan and Harry Potter. A hardcore foodie and I love to try and cook new recipes. All my experiments are on my blog.
Q1.An ever since moment in your blogger life or your turning point in blogging.
Sri: I was a passive blogger up until the middle of 2014 and then slowly geared up and became more active in the blogosphere. In 2015 my blog was chosen as one among the top 10 Indian blogs.
That came as a total surprise, and that was my turning point in blogging, and also taught me the valuable lesson – Authentic Content Matters. I did not even own a DSLR then. I just clicked the pictures on the phone and was posting as is. My analytics wasn’t competitive either. It was the content that pushed my blog.
Q2. Your definition of blog success.
Sri: Being content and happy with what I am doing defines my success. That doesn’t mean that I don’t look into any stats, numbers, recipe explorations, etc.
I do set my own small goals and try to achieve the same. This year I wanted to explore and try at least one recipe from different Indian cuisines. That’s what I did this September. But I know I have a long way to go. Same goes with stats. I just set a number and work towards that.
Q3. Your top 2 regular practices that have helped you in blogging.
Sri: I treat my food blogging seriously. 😉 I try to be active on Social Media (not all) even when I take a break from the blog.
Q4. Your motivational factor for your best blog.
Sri: My love for food. I firmly believe the mouth is the way to reach the heart. 😉 😉 I inherited the passion for trying new recipes, sharing and feed the family and friends from my mom and that’s what keeps me going.
Q5. One relationship who contributed in making your blog.
Sri: My husband. He lent and lends his full support in this blogging journey, and he is my best critic as well. In spite of his busy schedule, he helps me with photography, videos, new recipe ideas, the daunting task of scrutinizing the pictures and above all relishing the food that I make.
Q6. One factor, out of your comfort zone in blogging.
Sri: Doing full-length video recipes. My husband and my son want me to do full-length video recipe with voice over. I become so nervous that I end up blabbering. 😉 I have few video recipes that I am not yet ready to share. I hope I can make this as my comfort zone sooner. one but I know I can handle a different niche/genre well.
Q7. A book / movie / person / blog that transformed you.
Sri: It’s the TV series Band of Brothers. Every episode made me thankful for the life that I am living now. That series helped let go of my materialistic wishes to a large extent. I do complain about certain things, but that has considerably reduced too.
Q8. Your strength and weakness as a blogger.
Sri: As a blogger, I learned a lot of new things and also made lot of blogger friends. Blogging gave me the confidence that I can learn and venture new things. My strengths are multi-tasking and relationship building. Weakness is the addiction to social media.:)
Q9. One principle you are proud of.
Sri: The willingness to learn from anyone anytime.
Q10. Blogging tips to share with your readers.
Sri: I don’t have any specific tips as such. Just enjoy what you are doing and always engage with your audience.
