I was a manager at work for several years – was basically thrown into it with no training. I found a leader needs a number of abilities: to inspire, to be able to trust the abilities of his/her followers, to set a good example by working harder and smarter.

A great leader would be someone who can make people believe in themselves. Someone who has the power to lead, the ability to communicate and also the skill to persuade people to do something that they are reluctant to do.
Moreover, a great leader should not favour his/her friends, as this leads to a negative mindset among co-workers.
