” Life in my opinion is a Flow of Natural Energy and I hence strive my best to keep it as simple and natural as possible.
Frugal Living and Organic way of life is something that comes naturally to me, I dislike anything that is not natural and anything that is machine-made and tinned.”
She is giving such a powerful and inspiring insights about Parenting, Health, Pregnancy, Organic Food, Fitness, Money Matters, Interiors, Beauty and Travel. She is undoubtedly a great blogger in this generation. She’s a mother of two lovely Boys. Raksh Nitthilan and Yishaanth Mukilan of age 9 and 6 respectively.
She’s presently pursuing PhD in Agricultural Microbiology. Her interests are Organic Agricultural products and Parenting. Writing and painting are her lovable hobbies. Her goal is to become a published author soon and to start her own brand of organic products. My best wishes to you, Menaka !!!
My sincere gratitude towards her for earnestly accepting for this guest post. Here she shares her motherhood thoughts exclusively with our readers.
1. What three words describe you as a mother?
As a mother I would describe myself as a Guide, Friend and an Authoritarian.
2. What’s the parenting rule you never break?
No means ‘No’ I never break that rule.
3. And one rule you do break?
Only Half an hour TV rule – sometimes I extend to a bit longer.
4. How do you spend time off for yourself?
I have a strict me time on the first half of Saturdays, I dip my feet in hot water, get some novel and read or watch the recorded talk shows of the week and get pedicure and manicure done. It is a big no-no to anyone to enter my time on those days.
5. What’s the best part of your day?
Early mornings when the house is quiet and the sun is just peeping out. I walk on my lawn gazing at the sun and watching birds that begin their day. I also watch the fishes that we grow, they too come up to have a look at the morning sun, I stand there quietly without any movement and count them.
6. What’s your favourite guilty pleasure?
The power naps, I doze off at 4.30 pm though I promise not to do so everyday.
7. What five things can always be found in your refrigerator?
Understanding and Friendly (sometimes fighting) wife.
Strong and influencing mother.
9. Do you have a family ritual that you love?
We eat our food together every afternoon, no matter how late it is.
Every Sunday our mornings begin with ‘Pazhayathu’ which rice cooked a day earlier and let to rest at night with water. We take it with onion, green chillies and lemon pickle. None of us can start a Sunday without this. In fact when cooked rice is soaked in water overnight and the supernatant water is had in empty stomach you would get enriched with vitamin B complex, also this is a good source of probiotic. (ask me for a link if you want that I am writing on this).
10. What are 3 best things you love to teach your child?
Compassion, Empathy and Courage would be three things I would like my children to cultivate, which I think have been rooted already.
Thanks again Menakafor your great lifetime sharing with us … 🙂
