Kids love to be active and they hate being stuck. So use their downtime creatively. Play word games while traveling. Count for colors when waiting. Make rhymes during power shut downs. Encourage to write stories after homework. Mithu has started making his comic series tilted “Black List”. He has completed 4 episodes in that series. Yet to finish 11 episodes. Vocabulary enrichment is a continuous process. As your child grows, he will come to know new and difficult words. Teach him to use dictionary. Ask him to list synonyms and antonyms of new words. Play word games. Create Jumbled Words Puzzle. Write a story with some new words learned. Sing a song with difficult words. Highlight new words in newspaper, books and find meaning for them .

Encourage Garment Art . Let your child use his old pillow covers or his plain bed sheet or his old T-shirts. Give him some fabric colors and ask him to paint his own designs. He’ll have a brand new material. And also you have encouraged him to be creative and innovative.
July 31 is Full Moon Day. Also special as Guru Poornima Day. Watch the moon with your child at night and ask him / her to observe the moon’s shape and to describe it. Make discussion about Full Moon Day and New Moon Day. Collect pictures of moon and make an album. Pretend a Moon walk. Share the information how moon makes the sea tides to move up and down.
Do body appreciation exercise. Think of your five senses. You can remember them with three S’s and two T’s: sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Think of one good thing that you experienced today for each of your five senses. Focus on Solutions instead of punishments and timeout. You can do this by holding family meetings each week in which your family can work together and create solutions to problems.
Be Humorous: Incorporate laughter into your family. Try a funny voice when making a request, use jokes to break the tension, laugh by making pretend play, dress up funky, sing silly songs, play chase / hide & seek games with younger kids or watch funny movies together as a family.

You can buy bubble solution or make your own, and choose a wand for blowing big bubbles or tiny ones. The more the bubbles you blow, the more your worries flies off and the more happiness for you.
